About Me

I’m Richard, the person behind RG Visuals. I’ve been working in architectural visualisation for many years, combining an architectural background with CGI, photography and, more recently, an ever-growing collection of drones and new technology.

Having started out in architecture, I’m very comfortable working from plans, elevations, sections and CAD information. That background still plays a big part in what I do today. I understand how buildings are put together, so when I’m creating a 3D model it isn’t just about making something look good as accuracy, scale and architectural detail matter too.

My work now covers a fairly broad spectrum. I create architectural CGI and marketing imagery, accurate 3D models, photomontages and verified views, as well as drone photography and video. I also use drone imagery for site context and 3D capture, and I’m continually exploring newer technologies such as photogrammetry, Gaussian splatting and AI-assisted visualisation.

One area I particularly enjoy is combining these different skills. A project might start with architectural drawings, move into an accurately constructed 3D model, incorporate photography or drone imagery and ultimately become anything from a polished marketing CGI to an interactive 3D experience.

I’m also developing AI-ready architectural models, accurately modelled buildings and developments that give clients a reliable architectural starting point for creating their own AI-generated imagery, rather than asking AI to invent the building itself.

Everything in one place

Rather than separating my work into lots of different categories, I’ve brought all of my imagery together into one gallery. CGI, drone work, photomontages, interiors, exteriors and everything in between can simply be browsed in one place.

I think it makes for a much nicer way to look through the work with no hunting through menus or trying to decide which category something belongs in. Just have a scroll and see what catches your eye.

Away from the computer...

When I’m not staring at the screen or looking at the world from a drone, I try to spend a reasonable amount of time actually moving.

I play Padel, which has become a firm favourite, and I enjoy cycling when I get the chance. Photography has also always been an interest, which is probably one of the reasons cameras and drones have naturally become such a big part of my professional work too.

I’m fortunate that my job brings together quite a few things I genuinely enjoy such architecture, technology, photography and creating images and after many years doing it, I’m still interested in finding new and better ways of bringing projects to life.
